How has the Coronavirus affected the way you live your daily life?

I went from always being on the move traveling, teaching dance, and always out with friends to doing absolutely nothing. However, working from home is definitely the hardest adjustment for me. As a dance teacher, one of my favorite things is that studio vibe/energy and now I walk into an empty studio a couple day a week to prerecord my classes or teach through a screen.

How has your mental state/motivation changed during this time?

My motivation for anything has been rough not gonna lie but I’m trying really hard to keep what little motivation I have left. I have had a lot of conversations with myself which has been interesting. I just have that feeling of no control and I hate it.

What are you doing/working on to de-stress during this time?

I try to go on a walk every day, FaceTime my friends, and drink a lot wine! It helps that we have now started online dance classes so I have a schedule and a little bit of structure to my life.

How has the Coronavirus affected the way you live your daily life?

It has affected every aspect. I cannot work, I cannot see my boyfriend and I struggle to focus on tasks. However, it has given me more time with my family and encouraged me to connect with friends more often.

How has your mental state/motivation changed during this time?

Most days I feel really low. My only motivation is to lay around. I try to throw myself into tasks like embroidering, beating an old video game or just reading a book! Sometime you do need to cry it out though.

How do you feel about how your country’s government has handled the Coronavirus?

Extremely poorly. Our nation’s capitalistic views has pushed itself into healthcare. Healthcare is no long about the patient it is for profit. This leads to our bed shortage, ventilator shortage and lack of medical professionals. Not only do we lack a strong sensible leader we lack the resources to care for our nation. We are weeks behind because of this.

What are you doing/working on to de-stress during this time?

Embroidering! Working out! Eating!

Anything else we should know + share with our audience?

It’s okay to feel down or out of place right now. But today is not forever.

How has the Coronavirus affected the way you live your daily life?

Over the last two months, I’ve had to completely adjust my expectations for how I would celebrate important moments of my life. First, I missed celebrating a birthday of mine that I had anticipated in a long time. And second, I’m still adjusting to the idea of not having a college graduation in the way I was hoping to. I feel disappointed about these events not being able to go on like I planned, but feel that after a month I have finally been able to change my mindset and understand that things won’t be exactly as I expected. School work is more difficult, I’ve dealt with feeling lonelier than ever before, and I’m trying to find a job in an unstable market. But, I also know that all of these changes are the best for my health and for those around me.

How has your mental state/motivation changed during this time?

I’ve definitely struggled a lot more with completing simple tasks and getting work done as I used to. I’ve also not gone out to get exercise as much as I would like to, but the weather has also been pretty back and forth too. I feel my motivation coming in waves and I’m not surprised about it.

How do you feel about how your country’s government has handled the Coronavirus?

I’m disappointed that there isn’t a level of consistency across the entire country in taking this seriously and getting us all back to normalcy quicker. I fully believe that the actions being taken by individuals to not practice social distancing guidelines comes from our country’s ignorance of this virus being an issue for so long. I am trying to be hopeful that my state officials and the federal government will be able to open the country back up when it is ready, and that there won’t be a second wave of this.

What are you doing/working on to de-stress during this time?

I’ve been reading a lot, watching new television shows, playing board games with family, and spending a lot of time on Facetime/Zoom with friends.
