Looking Back At October’s Best Tunes As We Transition To Autumn

Winter is Coming!

It was below freezing when I stepped into my car this morning and I am dreading this cold winter. However, the month of October has been one of the best yet for new releases and music in general. We have compiled a playlist of the best tunes which will give you that glimmer of hope and reminder of the summer sun. Enjoy!

Olé by John Newman

This brilliantly breezy tune is bringing long-gone summer vibes into my autumn days. Although we might be heading towards winter, it reminds me of the times we could sing along in the beautiful summer sun.

Love Like Waves by Friendly Fires

This tune from Friendly Fires’ highly anticipated return does not disappoint. This track, “Love Like Waves,” totally lives up to their song “Jump in the Pool” and album tracks from Pala. The upbeat dance melody takes us back to summer festivals.

Back & Forth by MK, Jonas Blue & Becky Hill

Jonas Blue is back at it again with catchy hooks that show the world every tune he does is successful. Similarly, his tracks make you dream about the summer months. Becky Hill contributes to our love for the song as her vocal storms the track with her powerful voice.

Better by Khalid

At the moment, we are obsessed with Khalid and the stand out track from his new EP, Suncity. “Better” boasts a beautiful melody with even equally-wonderful vocals filling the track. I was in awe after seeing him perform live, at his show in Hyde Park, London, supporting Bruno Mars. I highly recommend attending one of his shows!

Dead Boys by Sam Fender

Heir to Fender guitars, Sam Fender is an amazing up-and-coming artist based in the UK. With heartbreaking lyrics, but a strong message, this song is sure to affect many of its listeners.

Closure by Ieuan

Pure pop perfection from Ieuan. His influences from travelling the world, originating from Wales and living in San Francisco before moving to London, are present on this track. With sweet vocals and a catchy chorus, “Closure” is beautifully produced, pulling creativity from his inspirations like Daft Punk and Lady Gaga. Catch him on tour in the US in the next few months.

Let us know your favourite song for this month below! We hope this playlist reminds you of the amazing summer you had but helps you adjust to the colder months!
