Canary: Holy ’57 Shines With New Single

Holy ’57 is back with his next track from his upcoming mini-album L. ‘Canary’ builds on the family ties Alex Mankoo spoke about in our interview for his previous single, “Water // Chrome.” Mankoo’s inspiration for the song was the sacrifice that his grandmother made for his family as he continues to build upon the influence that his upbringing has on his music. Mankoo’s attention to the lyrics gives listeners an opportunity to both enjoy the inspiration for the song and to interpret it for themselves, making it appealing to all audiences. Melodic, sweet, and fun, Canary fits the upbeat, contemporary vibe of “Water // Chrome” while paving its own path of warmth and funk. Trust me when I say you’ll be happily singing “I’ll be your Canary bird” for the rest of the day after listening.
